Düsseldorf, July 2009 - The French-Italian Luxury brand CERRUTI I88I and the German optical eyewear and sunglasses manufacturer Nigura Metzler have entered into a licence agreement. The first collection will be presented in January 2010. Following the news about the relocation of the warehouse back to its headquarters in Düsseldorf, these are further positive news from Nigura Metzler.
“We are delighted that Cerruti has decided to work with us again” says Nigura Metzler’s Managing Director Salvatore Grillo. The German company was already the licensing partner for the Paris based fashion house between 1993 and 2003, when the brand was one of the most successful eyewear licences in the industry. “We would like to get back to these achievements and are convinced that this will be possible with the support of our partners” Mr. Grillo adds.
The two companies share substantial heritage. Nigura Metzler’s tradition goes back as far as 1830 and CERRUTI I88I was founded in 1881 in Biella, Italy as a producer of high quality fabrics. Both companies are leading players in their respective industries and with this renewed co-operation the companies will be able to strengthen their synergies and further reinforce their market and brand positioning.
